The Story

From the days when only the fortunate few are able to work from home. Most, however, still had to face the drudgery, tedium, and aggravation of commuting to and from the grind of an office.

People who live outside of New York City would cram themselves onto buses and trains to get into the city, while those in Los Angeles bore the brunt of daily hellish traffic jams.

Then there is commuting in Seattle.

Relaxing, comfortable, pretty, and spacious. Here you can see the salon, the main cabin, and the food-stuffed galley.

The ferries of Seattle do not only transport commuters to and from their jobs. Everyday people with their everyday problems and eccentricities ride the ferries alongside the working masses heading to their jobs. With the size and openness of the ferry, there are numerous places people can go to show off those eccentricities and that uniqueness which, while amusing, is not always appreciated by all. As commuters catch up on work or sleep or unwind, there are those who bring alpacas on board, film pornography, or decide to have a competitive eating contest.

The show provides an inside look into this carnival sideshow setting from the perspective of our crew who try their best to keep order under these circumstances.

Meet the tireless crew, the men and women who see to the safety and comfort of the passengers while trying to get the ferry across Puget Sound on time. These highly trained and dedicated crew members, when not dealing with their own personal and co-worker problems, try to reign in all the commotion and confusion to make everything look as beautiful and shiny as the line’s website.

However, the rope that ties the show together are the bonds between our crew members. These friendships are forged through close quarters, solidarity and just plain liking each other. The crew members are bound by their common goal, which sometimes includes keeping bad news from the higher ups. The commuters find comfort in seeing recognizable faces, even when familiarity breeds contempt.

Here to There. You really will wish your commute was this fun.
